Venture Stream Announces New Charity of The Year Partnership With Local Charity, FACT

We are delighted to announce that Venture Stream is now supporting local North East charity; FACT (Fighting All Cancers Together) in Charity of the Year partnership. 

FACT is a local cancer support charity that helps anyone who has been affected by cancer in any way. 

The charity was founded in 2003 by Joanne Smith, from a small room in her home after being diagnosed with cancer three years prior and now holds it’s residency in Gateshead with a number of Community Support hubs around the North East. 

Following the initial success of the charity, FACT continued to expand across the North East, opening shops in Houghton-Le-Spring, Low Fell, Gateshead, Gosforth, Kenton & Whitley Lodge, selling second-hand clothing and accessories to support their funds. 

Its aim is to build partnerships with health professionals, support groups and other charities to help strengthen support networks but over the years has also become a safe, non-clinical place that offers direct support through counselling and activity sessions to those affected. 

FACT is unique and is currently the only local cancer organisation offering support in a non-clinical setting away from hospital grounds. The first time we met the people behind FACT and saw first-hand the amazing work they do, we knew we wanted to help this charity to make a difference.

From clothing, toys and toiletry donations, to internal Venture Stream events and supporting FACT’s online marketing strategy, we aim to raise as much money and awareness as we can to help FACT continue to make a difference. 

Commenting on our new partnership, Chief Commercial Officer, James Chapman says “we can’t wait to start supporting FACT, they are a tremendous charity and having witnessed first hand how cancer can affect people close to you, it only seemed right to support a local charity supporting those affected”.
